Two beams of light/ Sain lyhtyjä kaksi
2010 oil on canvas, 46x55
Primitive self-portrait. This is the other half of the song "Gracias a la vida" (Thanks to life) by my vision. You can see the other half here with my comments WHY I painted that song. Gracias a la vida by Violeta Parra has hounted my mind still... so I had to paint the melancholic side of it.

Falling/Tule kaunis syksy!
2010 acrylic on canvas 40x50
Beautiful fall comes and allures you to love her. You can't resist that vivid nature and fresh breeze. All those fallen, colorful leaves brings us a sentimental mood and a recollection from childhood games. Come, come beautiful fall and let us fall for you!

Dream trees/Unipuut
2010 acrylic on canvas 10x15 each

I love trees and I think there's much humanity in them. They have roots and they can be big or small, they try to reach up and touch the sky and depending conditions where they grow that defines how tough they become... and so does humans. So trees have become a symbol of humans and humanity in my art.

Mornings are the worst/Pahimpia ovat aamut
2009, oil on canvas 60x80
I'm not at my best in the mornings. Usually awakening takes a moment or two ;) and my body feels tense.
The name of the picture is from Maija Vilkkumaa's song. Maija Vilkkumaa is a Finnish singer and and songwriter. I'm not a big fan but this song "totuutta ja tehtävää" has so witty lyrics. They tell about one night, one moment when small group of people are playing truth or dare. Chorus goes something like this:
"And the mornings are the worst
of which end you can not see
I always fear that they get me
and so finally it is"
Listen "totuutta ja tehtävää" here.
